Newbie here going through the archives and saw something I like that I haven't seen in the new postings. This question by Dealmaker... What will YOU do different this week?
Well what I did was found this site and have tried to read as much as I can and ask questions. I purchased Cashflow and played it with my fiance' (we're playing again tonight), I have a couple books I'm going to buy and I'm going to buy Cash Cow. Then my fiance and I are going to sit down and start to plan our business and get going!!!!

Eric,

You are definitely off to the right start!

What a way to start a long term relationship!
If everyone did that before they got married then there would be a lot more "financially successful" marriages.

It's great to see that you are planning your success and setting goals!

get so busy so fast that by the time you take the time to share with anyone what you are doing, it'll be too late for them to say "it won't work", because it already will have !

Have a great weekend... and don't "plan" TOO long.

"<><> Biggest mistake I SEE is.........<><>" , Fri 11 May 17:04 post reply

The biggest mistake I see from new investors or wanna-be investors is WAITING!! Carol is right! Do NOT plan too long.. The FEAR kills most investors from even getting started.

I have this conversation with beginners ALL the time. Just last week this young lady found our site and was asking me 5 questions in every e-mail. I told.. "hey, let's talk!!" Because I can talk a lot faster and help over the phone better than email. She wanted to "wait" til she finished reading about 5 books.. she thought she needed knowledge to ask intelligent question before she spoke. She said she would get together once she 'knew' all the details and then should would have a list of questions. By that time, it's too late. I doubt I'll ever hear from her.

I told her the same thing.. Waiting is a trap.

Most people wait to be happy.
Most people wait to make that first call.
Most people wait until they have enough money.
Most people wait until they know more.
Most people wait until their credit gets better.
Most people wait until.....

Don't wait.. get started today.

Cheers,

"A little tale to illustrate ..." , Sat 12 May 12:10 post reply

A friend of mine 'went into business' for himself about 7 or 8 yrs ago.

Eighteen months ago, he got to write a $300,000 check to a bank to pay off debts on a failed venture. (One failed of many undertaken in the past several years.)

His comment: Hey, I could write the check and still have a lot more assets after paying off my debts than I did when I was working for the 'other guy'.

I am not encouraging anyone to lose money. But if there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain.

Frankly, I took an idiot bath recently, and found it refreshing. My biggest mistake still left me much farther ahead than I would have been had I waiting until I had absolutely all the info! (see post below about dealing in my IRA!).

"don't listen and don't look back" , Fri 11 May 14:20 post reply

eric, don't listen to the other rats, better yet don't share your venture with anyone, they'll only try and keep you down. don't listen to any naysayers cause these techniques here WORK!! i'm an extreme skeptic and i have to admit this is the best site by far for intermediate and advance techniques and advice. don't look back, keep taking action everyday moving forward. - STEVE
