I searched the archives to learn what verbiage others have used on their signs and found nothing. After reading the posts from today I am wondering how effective they really are. Has anyone used them with great success and, if so, how did you have them worded? I know Lynn suggests not being too wordy so what you DO have is legible to a motorist. I contacted the guy in Texas "Super Cheap Signs" and he said a maximum of 15 words. I can't afford a large (billboard type) sign at this point and want to supplement my newspaper advertising to generate more calls. Any positive comments will be appreciated.

I have had great success with signs. I post them at intersections where motorists have to stop. I get 5-6 calls a week on my signs. I also run an ad in the paper. The big one, is only $14 a day for a 3 liner. So we run it every Sunday. I get about 5 calls a week from that ad also, a week. We are about to put out another 30-40 signs, which should put us in High gear. We are about to run some post cards into a few subdivisions where we have noticed a few foreclosures. The guy in Texas is the best deal around for signs.

Robert: Your comment in the archives was one I couldn't find and I really appreciate that you would respond to my request. I remember getting excited when I read your original post after you put up some of your signs. I have noticed in my area that these type signs do not stay put very long....some only one day. I'm not certain who is removing them because the County zoning people said they are only concerned about property they own and he said they are somewhat lenient about it. It must be the telephone co. or property owner removing them. I have seen some signs in place with only a wooden stake and they don't last long either. My local sign guy said he can't compete with "Super Cheap Signs" prices.....and my guy is the cheapest in the area. Thanks, again.

Terry: Thanks for your comments, I appreciate it very much. What is a USP? You said "get a USP and stick with it". I apologize for my ignorance on that.
