  | "INSURANCE...WHAT DO YOU DO?" , Fri 19 Jan 13:47:
Ok. Here's a question for all you full-timers out there. First, let me set the stage:
I just got off the phone with my wonderful wife (who is at work right now). We were discussing how tough it is right now to have her working full-time days & me working FedEx at nights (so that I can pursue REI full time during the days & build our future). It's not easy for a relatively newly-married couple to have opposite schedules - I'm sure there's many of you out there that can relate.
As we were talking, we started listing all the obstacles that needed to be overcome in order for us to be able to have our first child & me quit working nights. And, inevitably when we talk about this, the biggest problem we come up with is HEALTH INSURANCE.
So, what do you guys do for health insurance? About how much does insurance that doesn't come from an employer cost you? Any recommendations as to who to try out when the time comes? I'm looking for a sample-selection from those of you with experience/knowledge to offer on this topic.
By the way, going without insuracne is not an option due to our desire to have our first child (man, I hear them kids are EXPENSIVE!)
Thanks.

jp.....I haven't priced self-employed insurance in the last couple years but prior to that it ran about $100 a month for just myself. There is an insurance co. being presented via our REIA group but I can't find the infor. right now. Call your contact person for your REIA group and ask about it.
It would be a good idea for those of us not employed with a co. to share any solicitations and other such information we receive from co's wanting to provide insurance for the self-employed. I will remember to do so as I get them every month or two. I'm relatively sure that Lynn or Dealmaker could be more help in this area.
