I just called the major circulation paper in my area to check prices on running ads. $3,332.00 for 7 days a week on 1 year contract paid in advance(going up Jan 1). It is much cheaper to use the local community papers or PenneySaver type but are they effective? How is everyone else doing their ads.... major circulation papers, PenneySaver or local community type? What is the verbage of your favorite ad?
Thanks!
TJack

My area is much smaller. I run ads every Sunday paper because that is where the real estate ads are (in the Sunday paper)The penney saver didn't cost much but I didn't get anything out of it. I do better with asking if I can stuff sacks in a neighborhood grocery. I like the area so I stuff their sacks with my flyers.
In the paper I keep changing my ads when the phone stops ringing.
Best success,

Hello everyone,

A 3 line ad run 24/7 here costs me 91 bucks per month. That is running in The Macon Telegraph which is our major paper covering several surrounding counties here. I run my "I Buy" ad all the time and usually run another ad in the "Houses For Sale" section as well to attract buyers. We put our web address in all our ads and it helps generate alot of traffic to our site as well.

Up until last week, we were running an ad in the local Penny Pincher as well. That one cost about 11 bucks a week. Didnt produce much in the way of leads for us though so we dropped it after running it for over 6 months.

I guess all in all we spend about 400.00 per month on advertising. A small price to pay for the income that they produce.

Have a great week everyone!

I have good luck with a local advertising publication called the
Bulletin Board. The private ads are free so this is where the motivated sellers and the down on their luck buyers go . The ads here are $20- 25 per week. Approach advertising with the attitude that its the profits generated by the ad not the cost that is important. You may try a small ad in the classifieds that you run every Sunday as long as you are in business. People get used to seeing it there and you will be easy to find.

Is $3,332.00 the weekly price or the yearly price? Are you talking about the Tulsa World? What size ad?

We are in "cheaper" Arkansas now, but in Atlanta we spent around two-hundred dollars a week on our "we buy houses" ad (Saturday & Sunday only). That's $10,400.00 a year, but how many deals do I need to do to make that back???? How much would it have cost me to NOT run the ads.

Since you don't have employees, advertising should probably be your biggest everyday expense.

That is for the whole year for a 3 line ad 7 days a week.
I guess I'm just a tight wad! Are you having luck with the local papers?

You are a tight wad.

You can get that money back on your very first deal.

Yes, we are in the primary paper 365 days a year.
