I uncovered a one-day seminar on forclosures in my area.

I immediately faxed the "fax order number" with a coverletter offering some benefits of my attendance. Specifically, that I write business stories with a speciality of covering semianrs. After the cover were 2 article clips from a local newspaper and a testimonial letter from one of the businesses focused upon the story.

This morning he called me back to say: "I've reserved you one of the 12 seats...at no cost of course...and you're writing is excellent. I look forward to meeting you, as well as, doing some business."

The seminar leader is a 14 year real estate veteran.

By the time the phone call was over 14 minutes. I had a $100 seminar reservation free, a new contact to add to my data base, AND I've already faxed to the local papers to "sell my story" before It's written. This kind of work is for chump change, belive that, but I'll net enough for a nice dinner out with some lucky guy :)
